Mostafiz in IPL
Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has received a major boost ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after creating a strong impact at the auction. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed the left-arm pacer for INR 9.20 crore, making him the most expensive Bangladeshi cricketer in IPL history.
KKR won a competitive three-way bidding battle involving Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, underlining Mustafizur’s high demand in the tournament.
There were initial concerns regarding his availability due to Bangladesh’s upcoming New Zealand series, which raised doubts about his participation in the early matches of the IPL. However, the situation has now eased, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) considering resting Mustafizur from one of the international series. As a result, the pacer is expected to be available for more IPL matches, with the issuance of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from BCB almost certain.
Mustafizur has previously represented Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians in the IPL. All eyes are now on how he performs in the Kolkata Knight Riders jersey, where his experience, variations, and trademark cutters are expected to strengthen the team’s bowling attack.
Cricket fans in Bangladesh and beyond are eagerly awaiting Mustafizur’s return to the IPL stage, hoping for impactful performances in one of the world’s most competitive T20 leagues.
